Kothamalli drink

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Kothamalli
  • 1 piece Ginger 2-3 inch piece
  • 1 piece Venivel gata 2-3 inch piece
  • 4 cups Water

Instructions

  • Heat a pan on low heat (NO OIL), and add 1/4 cup of kothamalli
  • Dry roast on low heat until the aromas are released. You will see the kothamalli changing color and getting darker at this time
  • Add 4 cups of water, pieces of ginger and venivel gata (optional)
  • Boil on low heat for about 20-30 mins with the lid closed
  • Drain the seeds and serve the tea warm

Notes

Add water ASAP when the coriander seeds change color. Otherwise they will get burnt very fast.
