How to Cook a Spicy Omelette (the Short Version)

To cook an easy omelette, first crack eggs into a bowl and add the seasonings. Seasonings are salt, black pepper, red chilli flakes, and chipotle seasoning (optional). Then beat eggs using a fork for about 30 seconds. Add chopped onion, chillies and other vegetables of your choice. In this spicy omelette recipe, I add chopped onions and green chillies for more spice. Add some cheddar cheese (optional). Heat a pan with oil, add the egg mixture and cook on medium-high heat until fully cooked.

Tips and Tricks to Cook this Spicy Omelette

  • This spicy omelet recipe is very versatile. Add any chopped vegetables of your choice. Red bell pepper, mushrooms, chopped kale / spinach, or spring onion are great additions
  • Add any grated cheese of your choice. My personal preference is cooking without cheese.
  • Red pepper flakes can be substituted with a pinch of red chilli powder
  • The spiciness of this spicy omelette comes from black pepper, red pepper flakes and the green chillies used. Add more of these ingredients to increase the spice level

Ingredients

  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 Green chillie finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Oil Coconut/Olive

Seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Chille flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Chipotle seasoning optional

Instructions

  • Finely chop onions and green chillies
  • Crack two eggs and add all seasonings to it
  • Beat egg mixture well using a fork for 30 seconds
  • Add chopped veggies and mix
  • Heat oil in a pan, and add egg mixture to it
  • Cover pan and let it cook for 1-2 mins (until mixture is not runny)
  • Lift one edge of the omelette and fold it over until the edges line up
  • Gently flip the omelette over and cook for 30 seconds

Chop onions, green chillies and any other vegetables of your choice

In a large bowl, crack two eggs and add all the seasonings.

Beat the eggs using a fork for about 30 seconds, until it gets all foamy looking.

Add the chopped vegetables into the bowl. Add some cheese of your preference

Heat a frying pan with some oil, and add the beaten eggs. Cover pan and cook the omelette for few minutes.

Flip the omelette halfway and cook for about 2-3  more minutes. Enjoy your spicy omelette!
